Mono Color Masterbatch is a granular colorant made by uniformly dispersing pigments or dyes in a resin carrier. Compared with pre-colored plastics, monochrome masterbatch has the advantages of easy addition and uniform dispersion in processes such as injection molding, blown film, extrusion, and spinning. Users can adjust the proportion of the masterbatch according to the color requirements of the product to achieve depth control.

Mono Color Masterbatches are classified into black masterbatches, white masterbatches and colored masterbatches. Black masterbatches use carbon black as the coloring component and are commonly used in products with high weather resistance requirements such as cable sheaths, pipes, and automotive parts. White masterbatches use titanium dioxide as the raw material and are suitable for applications that require covering or whitening, such as films, containers, and sheets. Colored masterbatches can be customized according to Pantone color numbers to meet the appearance gloss requirements of toys, appliance shells, and daily necessities.

When choosing a Mono Color Masterbatch, three parameters need to be considered: pigment content, carrier resin type, and dispersion performance. The pigment content ranges from 10% to 70%, with higher content meaning a lower addition ratio, which is beneficial for cost control. The carrier must be compatible with the base resin; for example, PE carrier is used for polyethylene products, and PP carrier is used for polypropylene products. Masterbatches with poor dispersion performance will cause color spots or flow marks on the product surface.

The functional Mono Color Masterbatches also incorporate additional properties such as UV resistance, anti-static properties, and flame retardancy. For outdoor plastic products, anti-aging black masterbatches can be selected to extend their service life. For electronic packaging materials, anti-static components need to be added to prevent damage to components caused by static electricity.

When using single-color masterbatch, it is recommended to conduct a pre-test to confirm the matching temperature and mixing ratio. In most cases, adding 1% to 5% of the single-color masterbatch can achieve satisfactory coloring effect. Store it properly in a dry environment to avoid being affected by moisture and ensure uniform dispersion.
